椅凳类 CHAIR & STOOL
椅子在唐代发展，才从胡床的名称中分离出来，椅子演化为三大种类，椅子、杌凳、宝座，并又细分成多种名称和造型，进化规律是由矮变高，由简入繁。

柜格类 CABINET
柜汉代有了柜格的雏形，长方形，下有四足。到了唐代，就有较大的柜，能放置多件物品。宋代开始，已有专用的书柜，正面对开两门。到明代之后，才创造出许多柜架类的新品种来。从功能上区分，中国古典柜架家具大致可分为卧室类的顶箱柜，书房类的万历柜、书架、书柜等，珍玩类的多宝格、博古柜等﹔厨房类：亮格柜、橱等。

床榻其实是分工的，床只用于卧，而榻具有卧和坐的功能。床不仅长，而且宽，主要为卧具。榻身窄而长，可坐可卧。床的分类主要有：架子床、榻、罗汉床、拔步床等。
